Ali MacGraw

Ali MacGraw, also known as Elizabeth Alice MacGraw, is an American writer and designer who has been awarded numerous prizes for her writing and design. She has been a vocal advocate for the rights of animals. She is renowned for her movies like Love Story (1970) Goodbye Columbus (1969) as well as The Getaway (1972). Born and raised in a family of artists located in New York she wished to work in the field of art. In the beginning she began as an assistant to photographers. Later on she shifted her focus into directing and modeling. She received her Golden Globe Award, for most promising newcomer. MacGraw's 1970 film Love Story was an international hit, earning her the Academy Award nomination and Golden Globe Award. In just three films, MacGraw was declared as the top female performer film in the history of box offices. The handprints of her signature, as well as footprints were immortalized in 1972 at the Grauman's Chinese Theater. In addition, she was a part of The Getaway Convoy Players TV Miniseries The Winds of War, and other films. Moving Pictures is her autobiography, published in 1991. MacGraw was divorced three times.
